Dear Dr. Beverlee:

I read that every person is born with at least one guardian angel. I also read that sometimes angels will leave their charge. If the person is so bad they can’t stay or is surrounded by an extreme negative environment making it impossible for the angels to stay.

My question then is if a person is very bad early in life and has been abandoned by their angels, will these angels return once the person turns their life around?

Dear S:

Angels surround us all, and they care about us and love us unconditionally. If, at sometime in our life, we thought we were “so bad” even an unconditionally loving angel could not love us, one should understand that this feeling came from us, not our angel.

What if we had a guide or mentor who believed that our life is not cast in stone and we are not punished forever by destructive behavior and experiences? There are times when our angels are real people, counselors, teachers, and helpers who want to support our spirit unconditionally. Can you reach out in your community to real angels who will work with you and create a difference in your life?

The Yin: If you have sought help and have been disappointed, risk again. Make the effort to explore all the resources within your area. Real angels differ in personality and ability to promote change. Your challenge is to find spirits who will unconditionally care about your life and well-being.

The Yang: Within your own spirit are as yet unknown resources you can discover. Gather information on the process of gaining awareness about your deepest self. Each of us can take quiet time, meditate, and ask critical questions. If we have a strong intention to know, answers will become clearer over time. Sometimes we need a counseling guide to set us on a road to awareness. But we all have a wise person within. We can give that person a name and image and carry on a dialogue to gain understanding and help. Don’t be afraid to risk change because humans are not cast in concrete.
